Contemporary Botanical Illustration is the perfect art form for Linda Lorraine Wolfe to express her love of nature; her affinity for flowers. To create the finely detailed watercolor paintings, Linda relies on training she received from the Denver Botanic Gardens' School of Botanical Illustration, of which she is a graduate. Linda also relies on experience gained from an art career that spans 25 years. With a Fine Art Degree in studio painting from Southern Colorado State College (University), a BA in Radio-Television Production from the University of Arizona, and a diploma in Advertising Design from Colorado Institute of Art, Linda's artistic skills have resulted in employment by the US government, small businesses and large corporations. She has taught continuing education classes at the community college level in beginning and intermediate drawing. Linda's original paintings have been exhibited and sold in galleries and national juried shows. Her illustrations have appeared in Mountain, Plain and Garden magazine, and several watercolor paintings were published in the 1996 book, "Xeriscape Plant Guide", (Fulcrum Publishing). Currently, under the name of Wolfe Design, Linda is publishing her Botanical Art Cards - Size 5" x 7" blank greeting cards - featuring selections from her original watercolor paintings. Linda holds membership in The American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA) and The Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (GNSI). The artist's favorite pastime is hiking the mountains and foothills in search of wildflowers and other wonders of nature. |
